(the "Company") (<a href=" VENTURE:TRR) is pleased to announce the results from recent drilling on the Chester Project located halfway between Timmins and Sudbury in northern Ontario. Highlights of the drilling program include:
-- Hole E09-03 - 68.07 metres of 2.04 g/t Gold
-- Hole E10-04 - 107.11 metres of 8.20 g/t Gold (uncut), including 313.55
g/t Gold over 2.56 metres
-- Hole E10-05 - 57.30 meters of 2.49 g/t Gold and 178.80m of 1.45 g/t Gold

To view the Figure 1, please visit the following link: <a target="_blank" href="
The follow-up drilling reported on here, was conducted as a result of a new area of mineralization reported in Hole E09-01 on January 18, 2010. This new mineralized zone is located about 1 kilometre southwest and along strike of the former Young Shannon gold mine (Chester 2 Zone). This zone will now be referred to as the Cote Lake Zone.

The original hole and four new holes reported today are all on one section (93+00E). An additional two holes have been collared on section 93+00E and four holes have been completed 100 metres to the east on section 94+00E. We are currently drilling 100 metres west on section 92+00E. The spacing between drill holes on each section varies from 50 and 75 metres.

The drilling program has identified two wide, sub-parallel zones of gold mineralization, these zones exhibit an apparent moderate dip to the north. Host breccia zones and adjacent wall rock contain disseminated sulfides which generally correlate to the gold values. The zones are bleached with the prevalent alteration being feldspathic (albite and/or K-feldspar to be confirmed) and chlorite with limited carbonate present in the breccia. Deformation is limited to brecciation with an apparent lack of foliation. Haydn Butler, P. Geo., a consultant reviewing the mineralization reported that: "The gold mineralization appears to be part of an extensive weak sulphidizing hydrothermal system that lacks extensive mesothermal-type silica flooding - only minor quartz and calcite veinlets are present, and alteration is more akin to a propylitic "porphyry-type" setting. In short, the alteration assemblage is distinctive when compared with adjacent mesothermal mineralization types seen on other parts of Trelawney's Chester Property." A copy of Mr. Butler's summary report will be available on Trelawney's website.

Mineralization in an upper breccia zone is in the form of disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite as first reported in the original hole and contains copper values up to 0.17%. The lower breccia zone exhibits a similar style of mineralization but with less chalcopyrite. Within both zones gold values generally range up to 2.0 g/t gold with the occasional high grade intervals reported here. Visible gold is commonly observed in these high grade intervals.

Greg Gibson, Trelawney's President and CEO commented,

"We are highly encouraged by the outstanding drill results received to date from the Cote Lake Zone. We are particularly encouraged that the new zone is in a breccia - an entirely different type of structure from the historical ore zones. This supports our view that the Chester Project has the potential to host both high grade and high tonnage gold mineralization. Trelawney will continue to aggressively explore this new area to determine the extent, geometry and grade of mineralization. We look forward to reporting additional drill results to our shareholders on this exciting new exploration play while we continue to bring our Chester 1 property to production."

To view the Assurance program to ensure best practice principals are being applied to in the sampling and analysis of the drill core. Samples are crushed to -8mesh then a 1,000 g subset of each sample is pulverized to 90% passing -150 mesh. Assays have been completed using a standard fire assay with a 30 g aliquot and an AA finish. NQ size drill core is saw cut, and half the drill core is sampled in standard intervals. The remaining half of the core is stored in a secure location. The drill core is transported in security-sealed bags to the Accurassay prep lab in Sudbury, Ontario by Trelawney personnel. Accurassay is an ISO/IEC 17025 certified Laboratory by the Standards Council of Canada. In addition to quality assurance controls at the laboratory, blanks and certified standards have been inserted into the sample stream at random intervals.

David Beilhartz, Vice President, Exploration for Trelawney Mining and Exploration, a Qualified Person under NI 43-101, has prepared or supervised the scientific or technical information for the property and verified the data disclosed in this press release.

In other news, Trelawney announces that the Company has granted 200,000 options to purchase common shares of the Company exercisable at a price of $0.53 per share for a period of five years to RM Communications Inc., a consultant of Trelawney.

Trelawney is a Canadian junior mining and exploration company with a strategic focus on "Quality Ounce" gold deposits.
