Resignation of Independent Non-Executive Director

Petropavlovsk PLC ("Petropavlovsk" or the "Company") announces that Ms Rachel English has decided to relinquish her directorship of Petropavlovsk and the chair of the Companys Audit Committee with immediate effect in order to take up a directorship of African Barrick Gold plc.

The Board of Petropavlovsk is pleased to announce that Sir Malcolm Field, whom Ms English succeeded in the Audit Committee role, has kindly agreed to return to that role until a new permanent appointment is made.
