– Petrobras announces the development of the exploration of block BM-C-33, south of the Campos basin.
The drilling of the well 1-REPF-12D-RJS, where the discovery of a new hidrocarbon reservoir in the pre-salt layer was recently announced, indicated estimated recoverable volumes of more than 700 barrels of oil and 3 trillion cubic meters of gas (equivalent to 545 million barrels) in the block BM-C-33.
The well, Known as Pão de Açúcar, is located 195 km from the cost of Rio de Janeiro state, and was drilled in approximately 2800 meters of water depth and encountered a hydrocarbon column of around 500 meters.
These figures confirm the potential of the BM-C-33 block in the Campos basin, including the Seat and Gávea discoveries, in addition to Pão de Açúcar.
The consortium is preparing an evaluation plan to submit to the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuel Agency (ANP).
Repsol Sinopec Brasil is the operator, holding a 35% interest, in partnership with Statoil (35%) and Petrobras (30%).
