On 24 October 2011 Exco lodged with the ASX the notice of meeting and explanatory memorandum relating to the annual general meeting of Exco shareholders to be held on 24 November 2011 to consider (inter alia) a proposed return of capital to Exco shareholders ("Capital Return").
The Notice of Meeting stated that Exco had applied to the Australian Taxation Office for a class ruling in relation to the tax treatment of the Capital Return for certain shareholders.
The ATO published the Class Ruling (2012/11) on 15 February 2012.
