Tumi Resources Reports Drill Results from Mezquite, Mexico
VANCOUVER, May 27, 2011 /CNW/ - Tumi Resources Limited (the "Company") (TSXV - TM; Pink Sheets - TUMIF;
Frankfurt - TUY). Mr.
David Henstridge, President and CEO, reports that an initial reverse
circulation (RC) drilling program at Mezquite, Sonora, Mexico have been
received .
Six reverse circulation drill holes, totaling 980 m, tested four
chargeable zones defined by a three-dimensional IP survey as well as
one hole each under the main pit and shaft in the centre of the
Mezquite mineralized area.
Although the drill holes intersected wide
zones of zinc mineralization, ranging from 200 ppm to 1500 ppm, lead
and silver values were generally quite low. No massive sulphides were
observed in any of the drill hole cuttings. It is believed that the
mineralization at Mezquite is very distal to the source.
The Company has accordingly abandoned the Mezquite property.
Tumi is continuing with its planned work program at La Gloria where road
rehabilitation and regional mapping has been completed. Detailed
mapping and sampling has commenced around the main workings where a
contiguous set of 16 channel samples (32 m), taken perpendicular to the
trend of the zone, averaged 3.3 g/t gold, 958 ppm (0.1%) tungsten and
498 ppm (0.05%) tin.
The qualified person for Tumis projects, David Henstridge, a Fellow of
the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member of the
Australian Institute of Geoscientists, has visited the Mezquite
silver-zinc-lead project, Sonora, Mexico and has verified the contents
of this news release.
On behalf of the Board,
"David Henstridge"
