Sable Mining Africa Limited - 786 Mt Coal Seam Tonnage Modelled at Lubu Coal Project

Sable Mining Africa Ltd / Index: AIM / Epic: SBLM / Sector: Natural Resources 6 April 2011 Sable Mining Africa Limited (Sable Mining or the Company) 786 Mt Coal Seam Tonnage Modelled at Lubu Coal Project Sable Mining Africa Limited, the AIM listed resource investment company, is pleased to announce that following a successful drilling campaign on the Lubu Coal Project (Lubu or the Project), seam modelling by the Companys geologist have attributed an in-situ coal seam tonnage of 786 million tonnes to the initial blocks being drilled, with the potential for additional tonnes to be added when further results are analysed from the recent drilling campaign. Lubu covers 19,236 hectares of the highly prospective Karro Mid Zambezi coal basin in the established Hwange (Wankie) mining district in north-western Zimbabwe.

The progress at the Project follows the progression of seam modelling work using analysis released by ALS Laboratory Group in Witbank, South Africa from the 36 hole drilling programme, results from which have already emphasised the quality and continuity of Lubus shallow deposit, the grade parameters, as well as the high coking coal deposits across multiple seams. The new results have been incorporated into the existing seam correlation work and when used in conjunction with the borehole geological logs and the downhole geophysical logs, have enabled Sable Minings geologists to better understand the lithological sequences and correlate and model the seams more accurately. The model for the Main Seam has been updated and new models constructed for the laterally consistent 1B Lower and 1C seams within the blocks that have been drilled to date.

There are a number of seams that occur inconsistently, including the 1B Upper and the 1A seam, which are currently being analysed and will also be modelled in due course.

The Company believes that these seams have the potential to add further tonnage to the Project when analysed. The new updated tonnage compilation, listed below, includes the new correlation and modelling work and is supported by Johan Erasmus, Sable Minings external competent person. Analytical work is progressing with identification and quantification of the coal products that can be best derived from these seams.

This work will be incorporated into the geological model and will lead to the establishment of a SAMREC/JORC/43-101 compliant resource statement which is expected mid-2011. Sable Mining CEO Andrew Groves said, "The modelling of an initial in-situ seam tonnage of 786 Mt underpins the potential of Lubu.

Our geologists have modelled the data received from ALS Laboratory Group which provided us with a strong level of confidence in this multi seamed deposit.

The next stage is to upgrade the resource to a SAMREC/JORC/43-101, which will enable the attribution of further value and assist in the next stage of development which will include a Scoping Study." The information in this announcement that relates to Mineral Exploration results and Mineral Resources, together with any related assessments and interpretations, have been reviewed by Johan Erasmus, a qualified geologist and consultant to the Company.

Johan Erasmus has sufficient experience which is relevant to the style of mineralisation and type of deposit under consideration and to the activity which he is undertaking to qualify as a qualified person as defined by the AIM Note for Mining and Oil & Gas Companies. **ENDS** For further information please visit www.sablemining.com or contact: Andrew Groves Sable Mining Africa Ltd Tel: 020 7408 9200 Jonathan Wright Seymour Pierce Ltd Tel: 020 7107 8000 David Foreman Seymour Pierce Ltd Tel: 020 7107 8000 Robin Henshall Matrix Corporate Capital Tel: 020 3206 7000 Nick Stone Matrix Corporate Capital Tel: 020 3206 7000 Hugo de Salis St Brides Media & Finance Ltd Tel: 020 7236 1177 Susie Geliher St Brides Media & Finance Ltd Tel: 020 7236 1177
