WESTERN DESERT RESOURCES ASX ANNOUNCEMENT ASX: WDR 15 November 2010 WESTERN DESERT RAISES A$12 MILLION TO ACCELERATE ROPER BAR IRON ORE PROJECT
Western Desert Resources Limited ("WDR" or "the Company"), (ASX: WDR and WDRO) is pleased to announce that is has raised $12 million (before costs) through a placement of 37.5 million shares at $0.32 per share ("Placement") to various Australian sophisticated and institutional investors.

The issue price of $0.32 represents a discount of 11% to the Companys last closing price of $0.36.

Funds raised through the Placement will enable the Company to accelerate exploration and development activities at the Companys 100% owned Roper Bar Iron Ore Project in the Northern Territory and for general working capital purposes.

The Placement will consist of 2 tranches: 20.17 million Ordinary Shares to be issued within the Companys 15% capacity of its issued capital prior to the Placement, pursuant to ASX Listing Rule 7.1.

17.33 million Ordinary Shares to be issued subject to shareholder approval at a shareholders meeting expected to be held in mid December 2010.

Completion of the first tranche of the Placement and receipt of funds is expected to take place by the end of the week.

The Company intends to make an application to ASX Securities Limited for listing of these securities in due course.

The Placement was heavily oversubscribed with the participation of several domestic institutional investors.

Patersons Securities Limited acted as Lead Manager to the Placement.

The new share issue will rank equally with existing WDR ordinary shares quoted by ASX.
